What is Pre-visualization?

Dear Readers,

Pre-visualisation is a new technique for filmmakers. This technique helps with the pre-productions phase of filmmaking. It is equivalent to using storyboards. Pre-visualisation allows you to map out and plan a full sequence digitally through CGI. The softwares used to do this are usually; Maya, 3Ds Max, etc.

My Top 10 "Steven Spielberg" films

Dear Readers,

Today I'm giving you, my PERSONAL top 10 films that 'Steven Spielberg' directed. I would love to hear what your favourite films are!!

1. Jaws

"Jaws" (1975) - For me Jaws was one of my favourite films of all time. Therefore, it's at the top of my list. Although some of the special effects look slightly cheesy, it is such a classic film and the techniques used and the heart wrenching journey is just great.

'When a gigantic great white shark begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist and grizzled fisherman set out to stop it.'

2. Jurassic Park

"Jurassic Park" (1993) - I love this movie so much. It was hard to gamble between this movie and Jaws. Jurassic Park is just such an experience movie.

Note:- One of my earlier posts goes into depth on Jurassic Park.

'During a preview tour, a theme park suffers a major power breakdown that allows its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok.'

3. Catch me if you can

"Catch me if you can" (2002) - This movie is gripping from start to finish. A must watch.

'A true story about Frank Abagnale Jr., who, before his 19th birthday, successfully conned millions of dollars' worth of checks as a Pan Am pilot, doctor, and legal prosecutor.'

4. Saving Private Ryan

"Saving Private Ryan" (1998) - Steven and Tom just work flippin well together. Another one of my favourite Steven Spielberg movies.

'Following the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.'

5. Raiders of the lost ark

"Raiders of the lost ark" (1981) - Anything with Harrison Ford is a lot of fun.

'Archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis.'

6. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

"E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) - "Phone Home" One of the most epic blockbusters of all time. A classic!

'A meek and alienated little boy finds a stranded extraterrestrial. He has to find the courage to defy the authorities to help the alien return to its home planet.'

7. Duel

"Duel" (1971) - This film was extremely intense the whole way through. This was a TV Movie and set Steven up for a big career.

'A business commuter is pursued and terrorized by a malevolent driver of a massive tractor-trailer.'

8. Amistad

"Amistad" (1997) - A great story.

'About a 1839 mutiny aboard a slave ship that is traveling towards the northeastern coast of America. Much of the story involves a court-room drama about the free man who led the revolt.'

9. War of the worlds

"War of the worlds"(2005) - I love this movie and would have put it up with my top 5, however nothing can beat Steven's classics.

'As Earth is invaded by alien tripod fighting machines, one family fights for survival.'

10. War Horse

"War Horse" (2011) - This is a great story, very emotional.

'Young Albert enlists to serve in World War I after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry. Albert's hopeful journey takes him out of England and to the front lines as the war rages on.'
